A Water, Breath & Body™ session is a warm-water somatic therapy rooted in Presence and works without agenda to support whatever arises with compassion. In a pool heated to skin temperature (approx. 95º), gentle movements coordinated with the natural rhythms of your breath, along with the use of massage, stretches and Shiatsu-style acupressure, support the effortless unwinding of physical, mental & emotional tension.
Guided by presence, compassion and curiosity, I support you in softening into the water’s embrace. My work is less about “doing” but about creating space for BEING — where movement and stillness meet. Open dialogue, quiet listening, working without agenda and a deep connection to the breath and body are my tools. The work is a collaboration, and I trust that through coming together with intention and presence we will be guided by our own innate wisdom.
My Approach
Each session is a unique reflection of what arises in the authenticity of the moment. A session typically begins with a dialogue; an inquiry into what feels alive and present within you. From this established connection, the session naturally unfolds. Floats are gently strapped around the lower legs to increase the buoyancy of the body and the head is supported with gently applied traction. As the body moves in water, its natural drag creates a sense of length and spaciousness that allows one to deeply drop into a parasympathetic state.
How A Session Unfolds
When appropriate, and with the client’s permission, a pair of nose-clips may be introduced to allow the client to be guided underwater. The natural cycle of inhale and exhale is supported with movement and touch as if a benign presence is aiding and encouraging the body in its breath. The breath is our connection to Life, and when we say “YES!” to the breath and allow the uninhibited fullness of its expression, we are, in essence, saying “YES!” to Life itself. Short and shallow submersions are skillfully timed with the client’s natural breath so that they become effortless, and the body/mind is given ample time in between submersions to integrate the process. As each client and session is unique, the amount of underwater work varies and is certainly not a requirement.

A Water, Breath & Body session supports the recalibration of the nervous system by helping establish a new baseline for what it feels like to deeply relax and let go. Most of us are innocently carrying a lot of stress and tension simply from the navigation of this complex modern lifestyle. The combination of the warmth of the water, effortless floating and mindful touch in the container of a safe, supportive environment of intention and presence allows you to let go of your burdens and surrender whatever is no longer needed, whatever is no longer serving you. Everyone has their own unique experience: freedom, spaciousness, weightlessness, embryonic, dolphin-like, mermaid-like, other worldly and out-of-body are some common words I hear after a session.

Sessions in your private pool (heated to 95º) are an option. A minimum of 8 clients ensures a supportive group retreat experience in the comfort of your own space.
