My Journey to Water, Breath & Body
“In the water, I experienced unadulterated stillness of the mind — a state of Being that I had never fully realized before.”
I have been what I would call, “a seeker”, since my early teenage years. Inspired by a painful loss at the age of 14, I suddenly became sensitive to the uncertainty of all things and began developing a deeper intimacy with my own vulnerability. It was the start of a lifelong inquiry into what this human experience is all about.
By the time I “found the water” in January 2008, I had been following a meditation practice for about fifteen years. In the water-flow therapy session I received, I experienced unadulterated stillness of the mind; a state of Being that I had never fully realized before. The experience was unshakable, and within a few months, I began my official studies. I met my mentor in my first class: Shantam Lanz. It was clear to me that, as a dedicated student of Adyashanti, she was teaching more than technique; she was teaching a way of Being. I knew I was where I needed to be and began a decade-long mentorship with her.
My journey led me to Goa, India where I ran the esteemed Watsu Goa water-flow therapy training center and had the opportunity to work with some of the world’s best aquatic bodywork teachers. Following the path of Shantam, my mentor, who moved beyond bodywork-focused modalities to create a somatic-centered approach called Fluid Presence™, my practice naturally evolved into what it is now: Water, Breath & Body.
